WANTED! I’m looking to buy several thin brass doorhandle holders – the part that sits behind the door handle, like a sort of raised ring around it and also has two little nailholes. The holder stops the doorhandle from wobbling around on the front surface of the door.

Thes items are normally found on Victorian era / Federation era internal wooden doors that are fitted with ‘rimlocks’ (the chunky lock that sits on the inside-room surface of the door) and are usually covered over with dozens of layers of paint.

If possible, I’d like to get about 6 – 12 of these items. They come in different styles, so I’m trying to match them all

Plus, I am also looking to buy some thin brass/brass plated stamped muslin rod brackets, either “straight” or “cranked” for 16mm rod. These have little cylinder parts that screw off the actual bracket, so that you can put the rod into the cylinders and then screw them back onto the holder part without having to bend anything.

Need minimum seven pairs of these muslin rod brackets. Will take more, however!! (No fabric or hardware store sells them any more, as now you can only get plastic)

Our house had all these things, until our last housemate decided it was a good idea to take anything and everything made of brass or copper within the house – obviously to sell, coz she would never pay her share of rent on time – while I (head tenant) was away for work.

She has now moved out, much to everyone’s relief. But we still have to fix the trail of destruction she left behind.

It is a Heritage house and we have to keep the details/fittings correct, or else we too will be in the poo big time.

It would be fantastic if anyone wanted to give us these things for free, but we are willing to pay “sensible” price for them, so please no outrageous ambit asks!!

Please email as phone is often switched off/out of range.

Eternally grateful to the person/s who can help!!

(the pictures show what we are looking for – the muslin rod bracket shown is the “cranked” sort, but not best photography!)
